About IHSSupporting Quality of Life and Well being Innovative Housing Society is a not for profit, designated charity that was founded and formed in 1972 by a dynamic group of individuals with a variety of different disabilities. The focus was to make a vast improvement on accessible housing within the community with a prairie village concept in mind. Through the collaboration of strengths, knowledge and experiences of our residents and staff and a common belief in helping others in need IHS is and continues to be at the forefront of assisted living. IHS offers affordable and accessible housing with supported independence for a variety of assisted living needs including:
We also hope to one day offer a safe and secure home for women and children in need. We believe in keeping families together by providing our residents and their families the support and encouragement that they need in order to achieve their personal goals and become active members in our community and in society as a large. Our friendly team of employees provides quality and professional services for clients and is dedicated to their care and well being. Meet Our CEODave Haut Chief Executive Officer Innovative Housing Society Dave managed development, construction, and operation of Shepherds Care’s Kensington Village, from 1995-2000. Following his time at Shepherds Care, Dave then joined Innovative Housing Society of Canada, which was at the time still called Handicapped Housing Society of Alberta and was a single family housing provider only. Innovative Housing Society’s tenants and Board of Directors brought forward a clear message to their new CEO: they wanted IHS to provide service enriched housing that is not dependent upon ongoing Government subsidies. Meeting both of these objectives ensures they will never have to leave. This was a tall order to fill, however, through a combination of experience and hard work; today Innovative Housing Society is very close to achieving this goal. Dave has a mix of technological and formal education, providing a broad range of knowledge. He is a Journeyman Electrician, Building Operator, and a 4th Class Power Engineer. He has also received several management certificates from SAIT, the Canadian Business Performance Institute, and P.A. Douglas and Associates. Dave also earned his MBA from Stanton University; he wrote his Thesis on “Aging in Place.” We are very pleased to have Dave Haut as a part of our Executive Team here at Innovative Housing Society. |
